Abstract
This work is intended to determine the most favourable heat transfer configuration in waste heat boiler from the points of view of heat transfer area and the power consumption. The design criteria of the present waste heat boiler assumes a constant heat transfer area while changing the flue gas velocity with the variation of the recirculated flue gas volume flow rate according to the gas turbine load. A set of design curves and tables were obtained for different tubes arrangements inside the waste heat boiler. These curves and tables show the temperature distribution, the mass of recirculated flue gas, and the convection and radiation heat transfer coefficients as a function of the flue gas velocity, the flue gas temperature for different gas turbine loads.
