Abstract
The humic acid fraction of sludge obtained from waste water of olive mills
after disposal in isolated lagoons was chemically characterized by amino acid
and sugar analyses and by flash pyrolysis-GC-MS. The sludge humic acid fraction
consists of polysaccharides, proteins, lignins and relatively high amounts of
C16 and C18 fatty acids. Although the composition of this material is different
from soil humic acids i t is concluded that the sludge has good soil fertilizer
properties. | 8 pages, 1 figure, 4 tables, 9 references. Trabajo presentado por Cesáreo Sáiz-Jiménez en la tesis doctoral para la obtención del grado de doctor en la Technische Universiteit Delft.
