Abstract
Hybrid nanoparticles could be synthesized either by chemical or by physical methods. Depending on the fabrication methods, hybrid nanoparticles might provide the new chemical and physical properties and capabilities. This chapter aims to introduce various methods for synthesis of noble metals—metal oxides hybrid nanoparticles. The chemical methods, such as the hydrothermal, sol–gel, coprecipitation, photochemical, sonochemical, and seeding growth methods, are mentioned. Whereas, physical methods, such as laser-induced heating, atom beam co-sputtering and ion implantation methods are also introduced. The contents of this chapter should provide a guidance for synthesis of hybrid nanoparticles with desired properties for promising applications in biomedicine, antibacterial, energy storage, electronics, and catalysts.
