Abstract

Alginate Bead Alginate Microbeads Animal Cell Technology Cell Surface Attachment Droplet Formation
A technique for the production of small polymer microbeads (less than 150 microns diameter) utilizing electrostatic spraying is presented. Video and image analysis was performed to reveal details of the mechanism of droplet formation. The effectiveness of coating alginate microbeads with poly-L-lysine on insect cell surface attachment was also assessed.
