Abstract

Arts & Humanities History & Philosophy Of Science Life Sciences & Biomedicine Mathematical & Computational Biology Science & Technology
One of the emerging technologies in life-sciences is text-mining. This technology enables automated extraction of pieces of relevant biological knowledge from a large volume of scientific documents. We present a short overview of text-mining and give hints about how it can efficiently support biologists and medical scientists to infer function of biological entities and save them a lot of time, paving way to formulate new hypotheses and validate by more focused and detailed follow-up research.
