Abstract
This paper describes the oxidehydrogenation reaction in catalytic membrane reactors using V
2O
5 as catalyst active phase. A simplified model of the catalytic membrane reactor is outlined and used to rationalize the kinetic data. Despite its simplicity, the model is capable to describe the effect of the relevant process variables: temperature, residence time, and oxygen- to-hydrocarbon molar ratio. Further work is in progress to better evaluate the model under wider experimental conditions.
