Abstract
Polysomnography (PSG) is the gold standard diagnostic test for sleep disorders. During PSG, several physiological parameters are monitored while the patient is asleep. These parameters include brain waves, the oxygen level in the blood, heart rate and breathing, body position as well as eye and leg movements, along with synchronized audiovisual monitoring. In this chapter, we will take the reader in a journey to demonstrate PSG technology and how PSG is performed from the time patient arrives until his discharge.
