Abstract
Traditional or natural medicine is as old as human development of cultural activities. The insight into real or believed activities of plants or minerals was surely obtained by chance as mankind searched for their daily food as nomads. The following chapter reports the insecticidal and accricidal effects of extracts of the seeds of the neem/tree, which was and is used worldwide for many centuries for a huge number of purposes. The described effects-obtained in clear experiments with 10 species of insects, 3 species of mites and 2 species of ticks-made it possible to develop and bunch safe and effective market products proving that intense research on plants may lead to very good, useful and safe products at other low prices.
