The dependency on noninvasive sources of DNA such as feces, hair and feathers for genetic analyses is particularly important in studies where conventional sampling is hard to practice, as in the case of wildlife animals. In view of earlier reports, we hereby address some important issues on merits, demerits and precautions related to the use of noninvasive methods of DNA sampling for molecular markers analysis.
