Evacuation process is a critical problem, in which the evacuation time is an important issue. This paper presents an evacuation plan generator using the Genetic Algorithm (GA) to reduce the overall evacuation time. The proposed work guides the evacuees to suitable exit doors based on the entered facility configuration. The results obtained show that the overall evacuation time was reduced using our GA plan generator. (C) 2017 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.
