Abstract

Optics Physical Sciences Science & Technology
We theoretically define the Mth coherent state, which is the application of the number operator M times on the coherent state. The overlapping with the coherent state and the photon distribution indicate that the Mth coherent state shares many similarities with the regular coherent state. In contrast, it is always nonclassical as the analysis of the Q Mandel and squeezed parameters showed. Thus, this state combines the two contradictory natures.
