Abstract
We propose and evaluate a real-time leaky bucket based call admission control (RLB-CAC) scheme for achieving quality of service in VoIP networks. RLB-CAC utilizes a real time traffic measurement and a Leakey bucket based traffic policing for QoS admission decisions. We use simulation to evaluate the link utilization and adherence to service commitment that could be achieved by RLBCAC, and to compare the performance of its diverse implementation options.
