Abstract
Conference Title: 2015 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS) Conference Start Date: 2015, May 24 Conference End Date: 2015, May 27 Conference Location: Lisbon, Portugal In this paper we propose a design optimization technique for integrated DC-DC converters. We present a formulation of the relationships between the various converter parameters and numerical techniques for efficiently solving these formulations. These formulations capture the parasitic effects in the integrated converter and enable mitigating such effects. Mainly, we develop a relationship between the switching frequency and the inductor's inductance, which allows us to use a single-variable optimization technique to find the optimal design that would minimize the power losses in the converter. These relationships stem from the constraints on the system, which we use to achieve optimal and robust performance.
