Abstract
Over the last thirty years, since fuzzy set theory introduced, there has been widespread interest in the real time application of fuzzy logic. Fuzzy control is by far the most successful application of fuzzy sets and system theory to a variety of consumer products and industrial systems. In this work a dedicated digital hardware adaptive fuzzy control system is implemented using field programmable logic array (FPGA). A host processor is supervising the fuzzy hardware's operation and can directly initiate a reconfiguration process for an adaptation action.
