Abstract

Our system consists of two energy sources, namely Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) and Ultra-Capacitor (UCap). The given design shows that the transient behavior, which affect the Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell, is eliminated using the Ultra-Capacitor through the Flyback converter. In our system, we consider an available power generated from a PEMFC and may not be sufficient to meet sustained load demands. So, the UCap can supply a large burst of the power and can to meet the power demand of the load at high efficiency. The control strategy of the developed model exhibits excellent performance of the simulation. An analysis of the simulation results is conducted using Matlab/Simulink software, in order to verify the efficiency of our proposed approach. [PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
