Abstract
Many older adults might be at risk of developing hypothermia or becoming dehydrated, both of which can be dangerous conditions requiring hospitalization. This paper describes the development of a novel support system, Hypothermia and Dehydration Advising Companion (HyDeAdCo), that integrates off-the-shelf technologies with an IoT infrastructure, and a natural language interface provided via a social robot to specifically target reduction of the risk of hypothermia and dehydration occurring among older adults.
