Abstract
Sustainable building design is currently an emphasized objective for companies and countries. Evaluating and transforming existing buildings to make them sustainable remains an outstanding challenge. The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the feasibility of utilizing an Internet of Things (IoT) architecture to attain this objective. The proposed architecture is aligned in its layout with the elements of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification system a dominant certification program for sustainable buildings.
