Abstract
In this paper a model has been presented for the prediction of shear strength of FRP strengthened exterior beam-column joint using stress equilibrium and strain compatibility equations. The model predictions are compared with the experimental observations. The predictions show good agreement with the test results. The model is further extended to predict variation of shear stress in the joint at different stages of loading. Here again predictions are fairly good. Effect of column axial load and effectiveness of FRP quantity on joint shear strength have also been investigated through parametric studies.
