Abstract
Design and use of infiltration facilities as a sustainable method of rainwater runoff disposal has become an integral part of drainage management and sewerage system projects for buildings or other paved surfaces. Infiltration facilities are devices designed for fluent and natural infiltration of rainwater from the roofs of buildings and paved surfaces. The basic principle and function of all types of infiltration facilities is to divert rainwater as quickly as possible to the infiltration zone, where it then infiltrates into the surrounding soil. One of parameters for rainwater systems design is emptying time in the percolation facility. The paper presents a model for prediction of emptying time in percolation shaft that was developed in the conditions of the campus of the Technical University in Kosice.
