Abstract
This paper highlights the role and strength of blended learning as a strategic and competitive tool in ensuring proper exposure to the skills set necessary to prepare undergraduates for their working environment in a global setting. Blended learning is a hybrid version which combines the traditional environment with e-learning, a blend of face to face and technology enhanced learning. The paper proposes an approach in taking the best of both worlds, creating a conducive and appropriate environment for learners from Generation Y and beyond. The learning environment should be able to prepare students for the working environment that students will enter when they graduate. The paper also discusses skills set and possible components that can make up the e-learning component of the blended learning environment. These will help shape the environment needed to prepare students effectively for an appropriate transition into their future working environment.
