Abstract
During the last few years, drones (also called UAV-Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) are gaining an outstanding success in different domains like: agriculture, healthcare, disasters management, construction activities, delivery applications, buildings and open spaces surveillance, etc. The most challenge in this work is that this research is unique in systematically constructing the conceptual model for the acceptance of Drones in Saudi Arabia. In this paper, a conceptual model is suggested for predicting the acceptance of drones. To reach this aim, an extensive literature review has been done covering several important aspects related to drones. Firstly, this study is dedicated for non-experts of the field to help them getting a first overview about this modern technology. The main topics covered by our article are: drones structure, main characteristics of drones, main fields of applications, regulatory and legal aspects, challenges and solutions for security and privacy issues, and models of technology acceptance. The acceptance model will be proposed to be tested experimentally in the extended paper as further work.
