Abstract
Conference Title: 2013 International Conference on Multimedia, Signal Processing and Communication Technologies (IMPACT) Conference Start Date: 2013, Nov. 23 Conference End Date: 2013, Nov. 25 Conference Location: Aligarh, India This paper describes multiband cascode mixer for 2.4 GHz and 5.8GHz wireless LAN applications. The designed mixer has been found to give isolation for LO-to-IF as [congruent with] -20dB, LO-to-RF as [congruent with]-18dB and RF-to-IF as [congruent with]-13 dB at 2.4GHz, whereas these isolations, at 5.8GHz, were found as [congruent with]-16dB, [congruent with]-14dB and [congruent with]-11.5dB, respectively, with fixed intermediate frequency fIF of 100MHz. With power consumption Pdc[congruent with] 4.2mW, the mixer demonstrated conversion gain Gc>10dB and linearity IP3 >1.2dBm at the both the bands. For performance verifications, a new Figure-of-Merit for mixer (FoMmixer) involving Gc, noise figure NF, IP3 and dc power consumption Pdc has been proposed. Using FoMmixer, it has been found that underlap mixer shows higher FoMMixer compared to non-underlap bulk experimental results.
