Abstract
Microstructure and magnetic measurements of milled hematite were studied using the Rietveld analysis based on XRD data and Mossbauer spectrometry. An expansion of the lattice parameters was observed. With increasing the milling time, both Scherrer method and Rietveld analysis show a decrease of the grain. Moreover, some dependence of the lattice parameters on the grain size was observed. Mossbauer spectrometry measurements reveal that there are two kinds of particles coexist in the sample; nanostructured and micrometric hematite. The magnetic hyperfine field is affected by the grain size.
