Abstract
Conference Title: 2016 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting Conference Start Date: 2016, June 26 Conference End Date: 2016, July 1 Conference Location: Fajardo, PR, USA A compact size microstrip fed UWB antenna with dual-band notched characteristics is presented in this paper. The first band notch is achieved by using defected microstrip structure band stop filter which is inserted in the microstrip feed line to reduce the interference with the WLAN from 5.1 GHz to 5.9 GHz. The second notch is accomplished by using a meandered slot etched in the radiating patch to eliminate the interference with WiMAX applications from 3.3 GHz to 3.8 GHz. The antenna has good impedance matching from 2.5 GHz to 12 GHz except the two notched frequencies. The antenna is fabricated and measured where good agreement between the two results is achieved.
