Abstract
Steady laminar natural convection around a conducting solid body inside a two-dimensional titled square enclosure filled with water is simulated numerically. This simulation spans three decades of Rayleigh number, Ra, from 10(3) to 10(6). The influence of various dimensionless parameters (Rayleigh number, thermal conductivity ratio and conducting body location) on the flow behaviour are investigated, correlations of Average Nusselt numbers are obtained as function of two parameters (Ra, delta) for each working thermal conductivity ratio.
Then, a comparative study was carried out between horizontal and vertical conducting shape inner the enclosure.
