Abstract
Online networks, including Facebook and MySpace, provide an easy way to create circles of friends. These applications enable the people to connect with a worldwide community. Debate platforms have been investigated into many types of online applications, as a way to encourage the users to participate for enhancements, e.g., debate applications that based on some type of collaborative filtering. Here we compare between two types of application domains that used by many online users for electronic debate platforms: product evaluation and commented news. In this paper, we collect our data based on surveys to detect differences between our scope application domains of electronic debates that associated with product evaluation systems and commented news. Similar questions are used with large numbers of users of debate platforms for the two types of applications (Product and News). Electronic debate (or commenting) platforms have been added to many types of online application, as a way to engage the users or to provide enhancements, e.g., based on some type of collaborative filtering [ 1], [ 2].
