Abstract
Postoperative hypertension is a serious problem in cardiac patients. A fractional order PID based control system has been developed for mean arterial pressure (MAP) of cardiac patients to be at a preferred low point after surgical operation. Fractional order PID based drug delivery control system has been designed to inject sodium nitroprusside (SNP) vasodilator drug in controlled way into patient's cardiovascular system intravenously to reduce high blood pressure. The infusion rate is to be observed for its efficiency. As we know human body is a highly nonlinear system. So we need to design nonlinear controller to model its charactestics. As compare to conventional controller fractional-order based controller needs more tuning parameters, the tuning parameters method of fractional-order PID controller is quite difficult to obtain. The mathematical study as well as system output confirms that PID controller having fractional order can give better result to reduce the MAP in cardiac patients.
