Abstract
Core-point detection is a crucial task in fingerprint recognition systems. Existing fingerprint system that deals with a large-scale database is considering the core-point prior to extract robust features. Performances of various core-point detections are reported throughout the literature exclusively intended for scanner-based fingerprint image. Despite propose and evaluate novel core-point detection for scanner-based, this paper explores feasibility core-point detection applied for fingerprint image acquired using camera-based. In this regard, ridge analysis method prior to core-point detection that based on discrete Fourier transform is introduced. The experimental result on the collected database shows that the proposed technique exhibits promising performance.
