Conference Title: 2018 9th International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC) Conference Start Date: 2018, March 20 Conference End Date: 2018, March 22 Conference Location: Hammamet, Tunisia Shockley's model for the solar cell assumes that some losses in the device occur due to the series resistance R s and shunt resistance R sh , which are independent of both applied voltage and output current of the device. In this paper, we propose that these resistances are dependent on the output current of the cell. The proposed equations describing R s (I) and R sh (I) were calculated up to the first order, and all terms of these functions are determined. These data were used to simulate the current-voltage (I-V) characteristics for two different types of solar cells. The experimental and simulated I-V curves are in very good agreement.
