Abstract
In this paper, a textile-based Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) tag antenna is proposed for wearable RFID passive tag antenna for utilizing in hospitals, childcare centers, old-home, logistics, military, security, transportation, sports, supply chains and many more fields. For on-body use, it is challenging to design a compact, flexible, efficient and harmless RFID tag antenna. The antenna consists of silver conductive thread on jeans substrate. The design of the antenna has been embedded along with a hand-phantom to investigate the tag performances. The simulated results verify the coverage of universal UHF RFID band with an omnidirectional radiation pattern, higher efficiency, and a long-read range of 5.044m. In addition, the safety of the EM radiation has been ensured by keeping the SAR within the limit. The flexibility, durability, compactness, safety and usability are examined to integrate it seamlessly into a smart-cloth for end-users in future.
