Abstract
A multiple slot microstrip patch antenna for wireless communication is presented. In this paper, inverted microstrip patch antenna, direct probe feed technique and the novel multiple shaped patch is integrated. This antenna offers low profile, wide bandwidth, high gain, and compact antenna element. The proposed multi-slotted microstrip patch antenna achieves a fractional bandwidth of 27.89% (1.82 to 2.41 GHz) at 10 dB return loss. The maximum achievable gain of the antenna is 10.01 dBi. The proposed patch has a compact dimension of 0.557 lambda(0) x 0.374 lambda(0) (where lambda(0) is the guided wavelength of the center operation frequency).
