Abstract
This paper describes the principal design features and performance of the Gifford-McMahnn cycle cryocooler by which we could obtain a cooling capacity of 2.2W at 4.2K. The main features of this machine are its large size expansion space, its use of rectifiable meshes which are packed in a regenerator at equal intervals, and its use of the combination of Er3Ni and ErNi0.9Co0.1 as regenerator materials.
