Abstract
Fredholm integral equations appear in inverse problems in several disciplines of science and engineering and is an area of immense interest. In general, the solutions to these equations are severely ill-posed and several solution techniques both in time and frequency domains have been proposed. This paper presents a novel strategy for solving integral equations using a Hopfield type network. The major advantage of this strategy is the guaranteed convergence to the globally optimum solution ensured by the causality property of the network and the continuous nature of the feedback to each node.
