Conference Title: INTELEC 2015 - 2015 IEEE International Telecommunications Energy Conference Conference Start Date: 2015, Oct. 18 Conference End Date: 2015, Oct. 22 Conference Location: Osaka, Japan This paper presents a distributed control for dc microgrids that minimize the total generation cost and regulate the average voltage at the desired value. The proposed controller includes two modules; lower cost regulator and voltage regulator. In addition, a sparse communication network with a balanced laplacian matrix is used for data exchange between converters as each converter communicates only with its neighbors. Dynamic consensus protocol is used in the voltage estimator to estimate the average voltage across the microgrid, which used by the voltage regulator to provide global voltage regulation. The generation cost function of each generator contains operation costs and emission penalty / incentive cost. The lower cost regulator minimizes the total generation cost by comparison of local and neighbors' running generation costs. MATLAB Simulation apply the proposed concept on a low-voltage DC Microgrid to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control performance to operational conditions, and plug-and-play capability.
