Abstract
The study introduces the possibility of the application of e-training for workers at the branch of the Ministry of Culture and Information in Medina (Saudi Arabia) and focuses on its impact on enhancing the performance rates. The study also aims to identify the impact of the use of information technology in e-training to minimize the time and effort compared to traditional training, and highlights the important use of information technology in the training and development of employees through e-training techniques. To fulfill these objectives, the descriptive analytical method was adopted. A questionnaire was used to collect primary data through direct questions and inquiries. The study population was composed of 240 employees representing the staff of the Ministry of Culture and Information in Medina branch. A simple random sample of 120 employees was selected. The study concluded that most of respondents had never attended an electronic training course. The study also pointed out that the application of E-learning for the staff was possible, and showed that the majority of respondents asserted that information technology could be used in the training and development of employees.
