Abstract
Named Data Networking (NDN) In pi is a newly proposed architecture to enhance the data distribution in the network. Thus, it is a new paradigm of communication based on the data regardless the host address. Therefore, NDN can be adapted on the Vehicular Ad hoc NETworks (VANETs) to improve safety and comfort of the road users. This paper adapts the NDN to VANETs and proposes an amelioration of R-NDN pi architecture. Our proposed solution called EVNDN aims to reduce the packets collision and the error rate through a new mechanism of relay node selection during flooding to eliminate the retransmission of packets. Simulation results confirm the efficiency and suitability for our proposed amelioration.
