An investigation is carried out to determine the effect of hot rolling/forging reduction ratios (R) on the hardness (HV) and impact toughness (J) of heat-treated low alloy steels. By measuring hardness, impact toughness, resulting from different heat treatment following hot rolling/forging, it is possible to determine which conditions yielded optimum alloy mechanical properties.
