Abstract
Conference Title: 2018 9th International Renewable Energy Congress (IREC) Conference Start Date: 2018, March 20 Conference End Date: 2018, March 22 Conference Location: Hammamet, Tunisia The common disturbances in the distribution networks equipped with wind generation influence voltage stability of those networks, particularly during Low Voltage Ride-Through (LVRT) wind turbine. The main objective of this research is to study the impact of different types of voltage controllers on the LVRT dynamic recovery after disturbances. A conventional PID controller is compared with the ANN-based one. The controller construction and its gain are proposed for each type of controller and the impact of each controller on the dynamic behavior of the LVRT are investigated thoroughly under various operating conditions. Also, the dynamic behavior of wind generators (WGs) is examined with LVRT and different dynamic load models. The effect of the inertia constant has been studied under the two types of controllers. The overall system model is simulated using PSAT/MATLAB software in such a way that it can be suited for modeling of voltage controller and loads configurations. The LVRT performance has been changed with different controller and load types.
