Abstract
The short coverage area for indoor environments is considered to be a significant issue due to the high number of exchanging data that is generating inside buildings. Thus, the deployment of a small cell technology is a promising solution. In this paper, a new deployment plan for picocell devices is proposed to increase the coverage area, solve the outage probability issues and increase the capacity in terms of the number of users who could be served simultaneously. What is more, minimizing the co-tier interference. The results show that the coverage area is increased dramatically and the outage probability is reduced and the capacity is increased as each picocell can support more than 64 concurrent calls. However, the cross-tier interference could be high if the macrocell and picocell share the same frequency.
