Abstract
In this work, we consider the relay assisted multi-input and multi-output (MIMO) device-to-device (D2D) communications. We have considered the variable gain amplify-and-forward relaying protocol with effect of imperfect channel state information (CSI) cooperative system over the generalized Nakagami-m fading channel for 5th generation and beyond systems. MIMO antenna system require dedicated radio frequency chain for each antenna which is not feasible in practice. Hence, transmit antenna selection strategy (TAS) is employed in order to choose the transmit antenna which maximizes the received signal power. Framework for the ergodic capacity is provided for TAS based MIMO D2D cooperative system in determining the achievable throughput. Impact of system and fading parameters are highlighted over the system performance. Further, Monte-Carlo simulations are performed to validate the derived analytical expressions.
