Abstract
Conference Title: 2018 15th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD) Conference Start Date: 2018, March 19 Conference End Date: 2018, March 22 Conference Location: Yassmine Hammamet, Tunisia Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL) are widely used by electricity consumers particularly in residential lighting. Known as non-linear loads, most manufactured CFLs have low power factor with harmonics injected into the electrical network affecting the power quality. In the recent past, many research works have been carried out to quantify the impact of CFLs on power quality and to highlight the related issues. In this paper, an experimental study on the power quality impact of CFLs is conducted and a measurement of harmonic currents and voltages with up to 40 CFLs is carried out. A current model of CFL is developed to be used for simulations to investigate the influence of collective impact of CFLs installed into power quality.
