Conference Title: 2018 15th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD) Conference Start Date: 2018, March 19 Conference End Date: 2018, March 22 Conference Location: Yassmine Hammamet, Tunisia Many kinds of non-linear electric loads such as LEDs, CFLs, adjustable speed drives, and computers are connected to the electric power system and they are present in commercial as well as in residential building. The current drawn by these loads is no longer sinusoidal, produces considerable amount of harmonics and interacts with system impedance to distort voltage or to cause resonance. The study proposed in this work is mainly based on a set of laboratory measurements to quantify the impact of LED bulbs considered as energy efficient lighting sources on the power quality, especially on the distortion of the current and voltage waveforms. In addition, results obtained for these lamps are compared with those obtained for three other types of lighting sources widely used by electricity consumers in lighting which are Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL), Fluorescent Lamp (FL), High Intensity Discharge Lamp (HID), and LED tube lamp.
