Abstract
The concept of attendance applies in various daily life activities and functions, it is an unavoidable part of many scenarios, this part often involve a process that is both necessary for authentication but on the other hand is also time consuming, there are many attempts to automate this process in classrooms involving a number of technologies, few attempts are there to use biometrics in class attendance, this research focuses on the use of face recognition to acquire class attendance, the proposed system can handle normal day to day changes to the faces, that are inherited from grooming, color difference and minor affect medical cases. The results show that the proposed system can improve the attendance process in terms of timing and authenticity.
