Abstract
The electron emission property from carbon nanotubes (CNTs) coated on CoSi2 thin layer on Si (001) substrate was studied and compared with that from CNTs coated on Si (001) and cobalt sheet substrates. The results show that the emission properties from CNTs coated on CoSi2 layer were enhanced and improved dramatically, and low threshold voltage and high emission current can be obtained from CNTs on CoSi2 comparing with that on Si and Co substrates, which can be attribute to the low resistivity, the size effect and the high mean free path of electron for metallic CoSi2 interlayer.
