Abstract
Conference Title: 2017 International Symposium on Networks, Computers and Communications (ISNCC) Conference Start Date: 2017, May 16 Conference End Date: 2017, May 18 Conference Location: Marrakech, Morocco Recently, the paradigm of Software Defined Networking (SDN) became an attractive research field, aiming to renovate networks and to bypass existing obstacles in order to meet the new challenges of current Internet. In this paper, we emphasize the advantages and the flexibility of deploying network applications on top of SDN infrastructure, designed for solving a problem or configuring a behavior, in comparison with Autonomic Network Management (ANM) solutions on traditional network infrastructure, designed for the same purpose. To elucidate this research, we will present a study of the “VLAN filtering and segmentation” autonomic deployment on top of both environments; regular network and SDN network, proving that SDN paradigm offers to the administrators an improvement in control and management tasks, with a rigorous translation of the business needs into production networks.
