Conference Title: 2016 5th International Conference on Multimedia Computing and Systems (ICMCS) Conference Start Date: 2016, Sept. 29 Conference End Date: 2016, Oct. 1 Conference Location: Marrakech, Morocco Reconfigurable antennas share attractive properties that can be used to enhance modern wireless systems performances. In this paper, a compact multiband meander antenna with frequency reconfigurable capabilities is studied and presented. The reference antenna is based on a meander patch structure radiating at F 1 =0.7, F 2 =1.46, F 3 =2.03, F 4 =2.75GHz and easy to be integrated on PCB (Printed Circuit Board). In order to electronically sweep the resonance frequencies over wide bands, one varactor diode was integrated between the meander patch printed on the top layer and a floating ground plane on the back layer. When applying reverse voltage, the proposed antenna is able to reach wide frequency ranges from 0.7 to 0.98GHz for F 1 , 1.46 to 2.02GHz for F 2 and 2.23 to 2.47GHz for the new generated resonance frequency F5 (appears when applying a voltage V=9V (C=1.5pF) and more). The measured results agree well with simulations, good radiation properties were obtained. Realized prototype and related results are presented and discussed.
