Abstract
This study is devoted to the construction of fuzzy sets regarded as basic information granules supported the design of decision trees. The concept of fuzzy granulation realized via context-based clustering is aimed at the quantization (discretization) of continuous attributes as well as handling continuous classes. Several detailed experimental studies concern synthetic as well as some well-known data sets available on the World Wide Web.
