Abstract
Conference Title: 2016 IEEE International Conference on High Voltage Engineering and Application (ICHVE) Conference Start Date: 2016, Sept. 19 Conference End Date: 2016, Sept. 22 Conference Location: Chengdu, China Electromagnetic fields inside high voltage substation are correlated to the substation geometry configurations and the electrical loading specifications as well. Abundant simulation programs or well-known software packages have been developed to evaluate to electromagnetic fields inside high voltage substations. In this work, the electromagnetic fields produced inside typical high voltage substation of 220/66 kV are simulated using Finite difference time Domain (FDTD). Numerous Matlab M-scripts are developed for calculating the electromagnetic fields inside the whole area of the substation. Different busbar configurations for calculating the electromagnetic fields using the effects of different busbar configurations and different loading conditions on the electromagnetic fields levels are tackled. The electromagnetic fields are measured using field meters inside typical substation. A very small deviation between the simulated results and Fuzzy output values due to reasonable issues related to the minor deviation of system configuration, loading conditions and minor differences in the simulation parameters.
