Abstract
Thermoelectric coolers (TEC) are used in a variety of applications that require extremely stable temperature control. In this paper a fuzzy controller is applied for the cold-end temperature control of a thermoelectric cooler. Fuzzy inference parameters which include the rule base and the shapes of the membership functions are tuned via simulation. The fuzzy control system was examined under variable cooling load and ambient temperature with different memberships functions. The mathematical results show that the cold-end temperature can be maintain at the fixed value within +/- 0.0045 degrees C, irrespective of the variation of the cooling load and the ambient conditions.
