Abstract
Congestion control for high speed networks require a local flow controller at the bottleneck nodes. In this paper H-2, H-infinity, and mixed H-2/H-infinity based controllers are discussed for the delayed rate feedback problem. There is some transmission delay before the sources receive the feedback from the controller and adjust their rate. Controller design specifications for the system include fairness to multiple users, efficient utilization, and minimization of the queue size. However, the most important design specification is the robust stability in the presence of plant uncertainties and input disturbances. The performance of the designed controllers are tested by simulating a network.
